Android Build a Simple Android App (2014) Basic Android Programming Making a Button Do Something

View.OnClick listener errror???

when i type View.OnClickListener(), it says it is an abstract class and cannot be instantiated. please help?

Please add more code as it is hard to tell where you are going wrong. If this is the section, remember that you are creating an anonymous inner class and overriding the onClick method

View.OnClickListener listener = new View.OnClickListener() {
    @Override
    public void onClick(View view) {

    }
}

Without the context code it is hard to tell but I am guessing you are doing something like this:

View.OnClickListener listener = new View.OnClickListener();
