Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone else finds it annoying how the Treehouse video-player controls overlap the video.
I've built a quick mock-up of how I would like the video player to be. The design is exactly the same but the controls are fixed at the bottom of the video, much like YouTube.
I felt a need to propose this as I hate it how when on of the teachers is doing code while I'm following along and I miss bits and pieces because the video player-controls get in the way of the code if the teacher hasn't scrolled up. I find this always happens when I pause the video.
It's probably just me, but I this has been bugging me since the new design last year came in.
Here's what I'm thinking...

13,297 PointsIt's actually not a bad idea. I also feel like it will be easier for new users to understand controls. Also just seems to make more sense. I haven't run in to a major Issue yet but I can definitely see why this is a good idea!

7,801 PointsI find it rather annoying as well. I think its hard to follow along when I gotta keep pausing it and waiting for the controls to disappear to see whats behind it.

26,287 PointsIf I remember correctly when I first joined up the controls were actually like this and it was great!

13,945 PointsAlso when the video is full screen I find it would less obtrusive for the link to the next part of the achievement to be available as well instead of constantly having to exit full screen to proceed to the next section.

977 PointsI agree. The video navigation bar should be movable, hideable or just not overlapping the content as suggested. I have been very happy with the course content so far, and this is the first frustration I have encountered.

26,287 PointsGood to see other also agree, I think I might tag Ryan Carson as something could be done about it :)

23,287 PointsI 100% agree with this. As far as I know, the Designers have already decided to do this. Tagging Daniel Lewis and Ryan Wilke

1,959 PointsHey Everyone,
Thanks for the feedback. We definitely agree that this would be an improvement. It's been on our list for quite some time. We'll see what we can do about moving that up in priority. That should be a quick thing for us to fix up. :)

1,959 PointsHey Everyone,
We just updated many of the video players around the application to account for some of your recent feedback. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention. Feel free to let us know if anything else comes up or you had any other ideas you wanted to throw our way!

26,287 PointsThanks so much guys!
The new player is great, thanks for getting it done so quickly too!
This is the great thing about Treehouse, if you say something it gets done, and as I look down to post this comment I notice that a preview comment feature has been added!
Keep up the good work guys!

13,945 Pointsexperiencing bugs with the new video layout when exiting fullscreen mode and when I enter full screen mode on a full screen monitor the video is displayed across the top portion of the screen instead of the center. Using google chrome

1,959 PointsThanks for letting us know Shariq Shaikh. We've submitted a fix for the fullscreen issue recently and it should go live very soon. Feel free to let me know if the solves the issues that you were referring to.
Thanks!

13,945 PointsFor the past couple of weeks or so the video player will randomly restart to the beginning of the video, I don't pause or do anything that may cause this occur

Stu Cowley
26,287 PointsI've also found this, for me it does it when I have paused the video for awhile, i.e. writing down notes, taking a break, etc.

26,287 PointsI just find it to be annoying cause in Chrome on can't just simply press space-bar to pause and un-pause the video or else it has weird results.
