VS Code vs Workspace

Why am i getting a NameError for not defining a list item in VS Code, but when I add an item to my list in Workspace the code runs fine?

I've been using PyCharm Community Edition (free). I find it a lot easier to work with than VSCode, but I have been an IntellJ editor user for a very long time.
