Web Fonts/Photoshop Fonts

I ran across this forum on anti-aliasing in CSS: http://www.quora.com/Which-is-the-best-Photoshop-anti-aliasing-setting-for-web-use

Is this still the case? This article is 4 years old and I'm wondering if it still relevant and there is a way to achieve different anti-aliasing effects in CSS?
