Webhosting for students - create multiple subdomains for free?

I've seen sites before that use subdomains for their demo sites. For example if I have www.example.com I can also have: www.demo1.example.com www.demo2.example.com ect...

Is this something that can be done for free with webhosting for students? Is there a different provider that can do this for free? How do we make multiple subdomains? I think this would be a fun way for me to practice building multiple websites.

Not sure if you can do it with Web Hosting for Students (doesn't mention subdomains in the plan) but you can do this at A Small Orange (free subdomains and email addresses). This is the hosting company Treehouse used to recommend.

it is a feature in the panel in domain add you can add a sub domain some website told you that you can do it
