Website Beginner For "Smells Like Bakin"; How To View Text As Webpage

Super beginner here so sorry for the basic question. In the video there is a quick way to view the text in a new tab as a webpage, what is it? Thanks.

Are you talking about the source code? If so it's option, command, u on a Mac.

I don't think source code because that didn't work. From the video it looks like another tab opens up with a view of the code as a webpage. Is that in the tabs open at top? I am using Sublime Text.

Right click on the web browser and click view source code or view page source. That will show you the HTML code of the webpage you are on.

Thanks, I am looking to go the other way though. I've followed the video and typed the text, now I want to see that it looks like it should by seeing it as the webpage. To see if I typed it in right.

Ah ha! So you should have your HTML file saved in a folder somewhere on your computer. Open your browser and drag the HTML file (named index.html if you named it the same as they did in the video) and just drop it in some empty space on the page of the browser.

That should let you see what you've built.

Got that to work, thanks. Looks like that only works if you have an internet connection?

Just double click your HTML file.

Wish there was a way to load a screen shot in here, but I cannot save the file in the Project tab so I'm not sure where to go to click the HTML file. I did get it to work by dragging it into a browser.
