Well known content management systems
What are some well known and reliable content management systems that can be customized for personal and business use?

The most popular by far is WordPress. It's estimated that it powers ~20% of current websites. Because it's so popular and wide-spread, there is much support and add-ons for its use.
You should have a look at the "Learn Wordpress" track here on Treehouse.
Hope that helps you. :)

It depends on what the CMS will be used for, but by far the most common or popular content management systems are WordPress (which Treehouse covers thoroughly), Drupal, and Joomla. There are also smaller CMS like Pixie and Webhook, and flat-file CMS like Pico, Grav, and Kirby.
