You didn't even ask a question...

I can only guess at what you are trying to understand. Is it just the first task? In the video they explained how to navigate directories. So if the task says change into de 'novels' they mean you should write the following command in the console: 'cd novels'. This simply is because you could have multiple repositories on you computer. A specific repository is only usable from within it. That's why you really need to navigate to the (repository) directory.
