what am i doing wrong?

<a href="pies.html"> <li>Pies</li> </a> and it is saying error you need to set the pies as a link.

The list item elements should be the direct children of the unordered list so you can put the anchor tags inside the list items.

<ul>
    <li><a href="cakes.html">Cakes</a></li>
    <li><a href="pies.html">Pies</a></li>
    <li><a href="candy.html">Candy</a></li>
</ul>
