What am I doing wrong?

I rewatched the video and copied it over, but it is still not making sense. What am I doing wrong?

app.js
let inputValue = document.getElementById("linkName");

linkName.addEventListener('click', () => {
    inputValue.style.color = linkName.value;
});
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>

        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>
        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>

You have to target the content of the element with the ID.

let inputValue = document.getElementById("linkName").value;

You are setting event listener to 'linkName' which you have not defined anywhere.. In order to set eventListener to any element , you must have to select it first.
Hope it helps :)
Also , within the 'inputValue' variable , you are just selecting the 'input' element . In order to select the 'value' of 'input' elelment , you have to select it's value like this --

let inputValue = document.getElementById("linkName").value;
