What am I doing wrong?

I feel like I'm doing this correctly but it says that I'm not.

app.js
const inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName');
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>
        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>

You're missing the part where you look to get the value of the stored input text box. To do that you simply type a full stop (period) after you've selected the element and the word value.

like this.... .value

Good luck!
