What am I doing wrong here ?

I did do as prescribed by the instructions.

var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
 profit = (profit +salesTotal) - wholesalePrice * quantity

Hello Dwayne,

I believe at this point in the challenge it wants you to set the profit variable to salesTotal - (wholesale * quantity). I would declare and set it like this.

var profit = salesTotal - (wholesalePrice * quantity)

I hope this helps.

You forgot to say "var" right before "profit".

var profit = (profit + salesTotal) - wholesalePrice * quantity

Its stil not responding... It tells me this : Hmmm. The profit variable has the value NaN.That's not correct. Did you subtract the total of the wholesalePrice multiplied by quantity from the salesTotal variable?

you are saying profit = profit, and you missed the var

Var profit = salesTotal - wholesalePrice * quantity
