What am I doning wrong

float math_constants [1]; math_constants [0] = 2.71828; math_constants [1] = 1.41421;

Try changing it to:

float math_constants [2]; math_constants [0] = 2.71828; math_constants [1] = 1.41421;

Two array elements need to be specified in the declaration, but when you set the value, you are correct in setting the first one at index [0] and the second at index [1].
