JavaScript JavaScript and the DOM (Retiring) Making Changes to the DOM DOM Manipulation

What answer is this test looking for?

apparently document.getElementsByTagName('p'); isn't good enough. Perhaps we could add more information in the directions or add some comments around how you would like the student to answer

app.js
var contentDiv = document.getElementById('content');
var newParagraph = document.getElementsByTagName('p');
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">
          <p id="newparagraph"></p>
        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>

Hey Brett Burgess,

The method you have used is incorrect. In order to create a paragraph you need to use a createElement method.

Here's the final version:

var newParagraph = document.createElement('P');

Hope this helps!

I appreciate the response. I wish the error messages where better. 100% my fault for not catching that they wanted me to us JS to create a paragraph.
