What application can I use to program JavaScript applications at home? I am using a mac.

I am wanting to write my own codes outside of Treehouses workspaces. Just wondering if anybody has a recommended app or anything.

What you need is a text editor. Treehouse has a great 14-minute workshop on text editors that will help.
