I am not very familiar with them, but I believe they have contracts with websites that you are going to buy from, thus they operate as affiliates and receive small percentage of money you spend. This allows them to share a piece of their profit with you.

Given that more one pays more cash back one receives, I think they can be classified as Volume Dependant.
