What are the foundations of the Java programming language?

Just wondering what some of your thoughts are on what the core building blocks of the java programming language. What would someone have to understand about the language to start building cool stuff?

Hello Tim!

To start building cool apps in Java you just really need to know about the core programming fundamentals like variables, data structures, data types, conditional statements and etc.

Once you have all of these down you can quickly get up and running creating some cool projects!
