I am planning on learning swift for iOS development. I know I need a mac for this, but I am not looking to spend too much money. I was planning on getting a Macbook for portability. What are the minimum Macbook requirements needed for iOS development?

8,947 PointsXcode (which is what you'd be writing code in) requires OSX 10.11.5 (El Capitan) or later according to the App Store.
So any Mac which can run El Capitan would do.

3,435 PointsWould it have to have the latest version of iOS? I am just trying to figure how old of a Macbook I could get and still be able to develop.
