What could be wrong since i had the propert and value in the right syntax - where did i go wrong?

Take a look at your opening and closing brackets. You have a header span opening and closing curly brackets with the styling included in between these. Good. Then you have a styling added but, you have not included what you want that style to apply to and no opening curly bracket. It's useful to pay attention to the color changes in your editor they will go a different color after the error. I hope that helps.

Hi Felex,

You are close. Your header span and your main-content look great. You just needed to do the same with the footer p and you have some "font-weight: bold" with no selector and a closing bracket that are throwing everything out of whack. See the code below for how to properly format it.

  font-weight: bold;

  color: slategrey;
}
