What do you see yourself doing with what you've learned so far?

I'm about ready to start with the Wordpress Development Track. I'm really excited to get into this, so I can learn what I need to do to build my own Wordpress Themes.

Sometimes I go through courses and think to myself "this is really cool to learn but am I going to use it?" or "Is this worth me pursuing further"? With Wordpress and Wordpress Development I believe I can definitely tick yes to both of these.

I know that Treehouse courses will help make me a better Web Designer and expand my skillset but I have a feeling what I'm going to learn in the Wordpress Development Track is going to be huge.

So it just go me thinking what do other students see themselves doing with the skills they've learned?

I'd like to switch jobs from a print designer to a web dev / web designer. Print design is pretty fun but for the area I live in there's just so much more money in web, not only that I really enjoy the technical aspects of coding and problem solving.

I'd like to either start my own Web consultants company, join one or start something big with some of the amazing people in this community!

I'd love to pitch in on a community wide project, I think that'd be a good way to learn!

That would be amazing!

Making some sort of job search website specifically for Treehouse students wanting to switch jobs, maybe that's already a thing? I think that's got some potential though.

Hmm, you could partner with other companies and feature students that have a certain amount of points per month or something?

Quite possibly? You could maybe do something around overall points? Some sort of ranking system.

I think the basics of the idea are there, I just find normal job search websites to be really hit and miss. Whereas if you wanted a website aimed directly at 'creatives' etc it would work better for both employers and employees.

This could have the potential to turn into a massive community event thingy!!!!

I'm all over it, we should set this up for sure!

I'm really excited to crack fully into the development field! I've done a bit of very basic programming professionally, but nothing too exciting. I love learning everything which is both great and bad because I love to jump around and try all the languages/frameworks!

As someone who lives in Seattle I can tell you I see quite a bit of wordpress jobs here!
