What does it mean to override the inherited init method?

I'm guessing to "override" the init method means to cancel it. If so, why would I want to override this method when I need it to initialize an object?

The init means initialize so you would override it if you want to initialize any values of your subclass. A detailed explanation is provided in this stage: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/ios-development/build-a-blog-reader-iphone-app/data-modeling
