What I need to learn for Web Development

Hi, Treehouse Family. I am worry about my future as a programmer. I would like to ask, what do I need to be a successful web developer and get a job in it. I will start with the courses here in Treehouse of Web Development and JavaScript for the moment. The thing is that I have a Master Degree in Computer Science but I got demotivated because I din't got any job in programming. So I joined the US Army and now looking to get back to programming. Any Advised please, I will be really grateful.

Thanks and good day.

I would be extremely surprised if a bilingual veteran with a Masters Degree in Computer Science couldn't get a programming job, but I would follow the Career Program on Treehouse. They have you complete one of the tracks (say Front-End Web Development) , make a profile, answer some questions on forums, upload 3 projects, and answer some interview questions. If you do all that, and still can't get a job, let me know so I can quit this whole coding thing.

Are you more interested in the front end (the look of the site) or the back end (database and more traditional programming)? If the first, start with front end development. If the later, start with PHP Develompment.

Good morning and thanks for your suggestions so far.

I am more interested in development right now more than front end for the moment, but I would like to learn both in the future. I will be check the suggestions you guys gave me and start from there. Any other advice will be appreciated.

Thanks again and feeling motivated.

You're successful already, you have the goal and you're working towards it. I find that if I just do more of what I love to do the rest takes care of itself.
