What is "Fork Workspace"?

There are 3 options on the upper right corner of the workspace. First one is for taking a snapshot, the third one is the preview button, but the second one is called "Fork Workspace" and when i hit it, the new file opens and a new window on the bottom called "Console" opens. What are they for?

Fork workspace creates a copy of the workspace. This allows you to make changes to the copy without affecting the original.

The console is used for executing commands and displaying results in languages such as Java and Python. It can be toggled using the View > Show/Hide console menu item.
