Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 30,885 PointsWhat is reinstalling your OS X like when using an external HD backed up before the reinstall?
Hi!
I am dealing with some nasty issues. I think I may need to reinstall my OS X due to OSX-gcc-installer.
I have my HD backed up. Do I have to manually select and add things from my HD to add to my computer following the uninstallation? How does that work? I think OSX-gcc-installer overwrote some files and broke my dev tools.... :(
Please see https://teamtreehouse.com/forum/following-the-installation-of-osxgccinstaller-i-cannot-install-gems-basically-use-ruby-in-programming for more information.
Thanks!!!

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Graduate 51,574 PointsIt depends really.
With a Time Machine backup you are up and running in no time. Just depends what you backed up - if only pics, vids and normal non-system data, you'll be back up and running in no time.
But before you do this what's the problem you get? 'Cos there could be a possible way to save your system with simple sym links...
I'll give you an simple answer (I hope on your other post: the link you provided).
