What is the alt Attribute?

I'm trying to understand what this mean relating to the img tag

1 Answer

The alt attribute is the alternative text for the img tag or HTML Image Element.

For example...

<img src="profile.jpg" alt="This is a picture of me." />

It's just a way of describing what the image actually is. It helps search engines as well as people with disabilities to understand what the image is.

Thanks man that really helped.
