What is the l2 at the end?

I didn't get the end part of this video. Which is d1+l2=18 we have not defined l2, what is it?

Why he included it I couldn't tell you but it is the number 12. d1 = 6 so 6 + 12 = 18.

OH. Sorry I though it is l2 (like d2 but l) not 1. So sorry. Thanks
