Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java IO

what is the mistake here

// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
string firstName= ("Gilbert");
string firstname= console.readline("What is your name?  ");

You have a couple of errors in your code. First remove String firstName = "Gilbert" just make it String firstName;. Second make sure String Is capital because java is a case sensitive language.

This is how the code is supposed to look

String firstName;

firstName = console.readLine("what is your name");
