What is the problem with @price.setter?

I tried to check price.setter and I got an error: Bummer! Didn't correctly set the @price property. What is wrong with my code?

product.py 
class Product:
    _price = 0.0
    tax_rate = 0.12

    def __init__(self, base_price):
        self._price = base_price

    @property
    def price(self):
        return self._price + (self._price * self.tax_rate)

    @price.setter
    def price(self, price):
        self._price = price / (1 + self.tax_rate)

I had the exact same question. Searched a bit through the forums and saw that we need to remove 

/ (self.tax_rate + 1)

more explanation here

I think the issue is that the challenge is written in a confusing and counterintuitive way.
