What is the string `beforeend` exactly?

just want to know what it is a property, method, parameter for an argument to pass through, if so, what is passing through and from where? Thanks for any clarification.

The string "beforeend" is an argument that is being passed to the "insertAdjacentHTML" method. When the method runs, it will use it as the value of the "position" parameter as described on the documentation page.
