What it takes

Hello all, I have really been loving the tutorials. I have really been able to apply this information into real world application. Now my current knowledge of html css javascript jquery is not the best i am starting to understand the essentials for a front end developer. Now, with that being said i have heard several answers to this questions and still have found any real clear understand standing but my question is this.

For a beginner level or entry level front end developer what are some the essential things that a developer should be able to perform. Now when i say perform i mean to successfully create such as a form with multiple fields, cool hover states/animations, succesful email submission and storing and using users inputed data and based off of users input deliver the site/webapp in a way that best suits there needs. these are things that I myself would for lack of a better term or word suffice to become or at least enter in to the realm of front end devleopment. I feel as if i am getting close to the piont to when i can truly call myself a developer.

As of now I work for a digital agency as a Quality Assurance Specialist. I had even had the chance to develop a press release for my company or in other create a fully responsive email. However though that is about the only code i have touched on a professional level. So again please iterate what you yourself feel are the basics or essentials for a basic entry level web developer. Thanks

I'd say when you can do the things listed in this blog post helpfully entitled when can I call myself a web developer.

In terms of CSS here are some great questions that test fundamental knowledge about CSS.

In terms of JavaScript I'm not sure how much is needed, it probably varies between positions. I'd say at a minimum you should be able to complete this memory game exercise on pairuptocode.com

Thanks James, I really appreciate your expert input on this. I truly feel as if it should be not much longer before I will be able to successfully obtain the title as a front end developer. James Capra
