What kind of budget would it take to create a dynamic web site similar to imgur

A friend of mine has had me working on a project for him to create a site similar to imgur with a theme. I was wondering what kind of budgets that these projects demand.

Looking at it, it's quite a simple concept. Database stores images, only filter is popularity and time to search.

well i had some other cool ideas i wanted to implement, It will take a little java scripting . And i wanted to look a lot better then imgur.

I think it all comes down to how much time will it take you to build it? And are you using your own computer (your price should go up if you're using your own equipment), are you using their office space? Again, you're price should go up if you're using your home and utilities.

And of course, how much money are they going to be making off this site? Maybe some equity is an option?

oh like the way you talk josh. yes i am using my own every thing. I am quite new to this kind of thing, i have never created a responsive web site like this. but i am still confident that i can do it, i am having a few issues with this right now

but i feel that treehouses videos and my research will guide me through it. i asked for $500 USD because of my inexperience and also the person im doing it for is broke and a friend of min, Im doing it for theexperience mostly, do you think that's aboutright

For a static website, 500 would be OK. Bit you'd be building a dynamic site with a database, so I'd go for a 1000$. If your friend went to an agency, they'd easily charge 10, 000

oh...and my inexperience wont be and issue, you see think

I can't comment on your experience as I've never seen your work.
