What kind of desks to treehouse staff use?

Dear Treehouse, In one of the courses, probably Photoshop workflow stage, Allison showcased a desk that can move up and down, and that most of the treehouse staff uses. Can you give me the brand, or the name of the desk, as I would like to order one myself!

Regards, Joseph Hall

Joseph Hall,

Those are called "Geek Desks" and they're pretty awesome because you can sit or stand while using them. The downsides are that they do take a long time to ship and they're quite pricey at ~$1000 USD.

Here's the link to the Geek Desk website: http://www.geekdesk.com/

You are probably thinking of a standing desk which is like the hipster cousin of the drafting table.

Joe, go with the Geekdesk!!! You will thank yourself a million times after the purchase. You can buy the Base, without a desktop and make your own top and have that thing up in a week. I picked up the frame only version ( http://www.geekdesk.com/default.asp?contentID=630 ) and went to home depot, purchased some wood, strong wood glue, stain and put mine together like a week later. It has worked out for me great!

this one is a bit cheaper at $549, still have to make your own top, and hold onto the button to make it go up and down.

Thanks guys! I think that I am going to go with geek desk frame only, then go to the hardware store and get some good wood.

Quick question, what do you think of nextdesk? It is more expensive, but I like it more...

Joe, I didn't have any luck when I reached out to nextdesk customer support in regards to purchasing their product. That kinda worried me, one of the things that sold me was the responsiveness of customer support at geekdesk. They were really great at answering all of my questions and following through after the item arrived. Good luck on your decision, and let us know what you picked.

Alright! Thanks for your help. I think I will look at NextDesk, but my intuition is to go with GeekDesk
