What kind of questions can I expect in a technical test for a junior web developer position?

I have an interview this Wednesday for a Junior Web Developer Position and I have been informed that I will be doing a technical exercise with it.

Does anyone have an idea what kind of questions or areas the technical exercise will cover? I am an aspiring web developer and this will be my very first interview for a company so I can completely new to the industry.

Hi, you should definitely make a protfolio.

I would suggest to watch some of this video to get an idea . I think its worth to watch this video Actualy i made a post on this a little you can have a read and see a bit. Unless you watched this then you should be good i believe was long as you know your stuff.

Hope this helps too .

Since is 16 days past, tell us how it went if you want . :)

Thanks, I indeed watched those videos before my interview.

Well in my experience i had 3 junior web developer role interviews within 2 weeks. Each interview had a practical exercise or technical test but they were all different.

The exercises varied from creating media queries to creating a carousel. Another task involved creating a simple page of a psd web page template within the space of 15 minutes. I also had to do a very easy multiple choice test that involves the topics of HTML, CSS Js and JQuery. I once was given a long page of markup and the interview asked me to highlights every single mistake in the code. All the mistakes I found consist of spelling mistakes, un closed brackets and quotation marks, un encoded ampersands, incorrect classes and ids and a lot more small silly mistakes thats easy to catch.

At the end of my job hunt I managed to secure a junior web designer role in Foxtons which is one of the UK's top real estate agency. I would never have gotten the job without the teaching and knowledge that Treehouse provided and I only started learning from Treehouse for four months.

I start next week and I am excited to finally enter the web industry :D

Wow! Thats great! Congratulations!
Its awesome how treehouse helped you as Tree Casiano said

My advice is to just relax. If you've applied for such a position, you are confident that you got the skills necessary to perform good at it. They won't make the test ridiculously difficult. Good luck!

Gerald, Thanks for following up to let us know how the interviews went. So glad to hear you landed a job and that the Treehouse training was so helpful. Best wishes in your new position!
