1,353 PointsWhat macBook should I buy for iOS development?
Hi, I don't own a macBook, I currently develop/code iOS apps in the iMac systems in my school. Would like to know which configuration would be good for iOS development. (I was suggested that at least 8GB RAM is required for smooth unhindered iOS dev)
I would like to receive your suggestions.
Thanks!

3,403 PointsI would say that it depends on your price range. I personally have the MacBook Pro. It's great for editing code, and I also use it for school assignments. My previous MacBook had problems opening emulators/simulators efficiently, and was super slow when running Chrome and either xcode, or Android Studio.
If you're okay with spending a lot of money on a computer, I'd go for the MacBook Pro. They come in a 13 inch model or a 15 inch model. Here's the link of prices and specs on the Apple website: http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs-retina/
You mentioned you want at least 8 gigs of ram. The new MacBook has exactly 8 gigs of ram, but is comparable to the price of the 13 inch MacBook Pro, and doesn't have as nice of a processor. The specs for this particular computer are located here: http://www.apple.com/macbook/specs/
If I had to recommend one to you, I'd go for the 15 inch Pro. I have no regrets with mine.

Treehouse Guest TeacherHello Vetri,
Along with Athena Ross, I recommend the MacBook Pro. I use a 13" for web and mobile development and it performs exceptionally well.
I hope this helps. Enjoy your new Mac :)
