What Symbol?

What symbol do I put at the end of a statement? If it says "<h1>Welcome to my webpage..." What would I put at the end? When I put <h1>, I got it wrong. When I put <h2>, I got it wrong. Thank You

In HTML most tags have an opening and a closing tag. The closing tags syntax will usually be a < followed by a / then the tag name and finally a >. An example being the closing tag of a <p> tag is </p>. The closing tag for the <h1> is </h1>.
