what technology can I use to design video backgrounds for my iOS app

I want to have the background homepage of my app as a video just like websites have video backgrounds on their pages. Is this possible for iOS? How could it be done without creating lots and lots of images and animating through them? Thanks for your help!

I designed a website about a month ago and used this tutorial to embed video into the background element, and I'm trying to do something similar with an app. Here are the tutorials I started with:
