What the points used for?

When I finished challenges or quiz, I could get points, you know. However, I don't know where I can use these points. Does anybody tell me about this?

They are used for scoring competency. Treehouse is first and formost a training program, and like other training programs (IE, school) they give points for successful progress.

They also visualize it based on your profile and around your picture at the top of all of the screens; As you learn more concepts (HTML, CSS, PHP, iOS, etc), you will get more colors in your pie chart.

There's also friendly competition to get the most points in given time periods.

In the end, it's just a score for successful progress.
