Courses Plus Student 3,682 PointsHardware - all you really need is a creative mind.
For software there's artisteer which is really good, I tested it out and was pleased with its ease of use. Theres also WYSIWYG Web builder which i havent teasted yet, you got a 30 day free trial for that. plus its cheaper than artisteer.

I am on Windows and I use:
- Sublime Text 3 (text editor)
- Scout (Sass)
- Balsamiq (mockups)
- Fireworks & Illustrator (graphics)
- Filezilla (FTP)
- XAMPP (local sever)
- PNG Gauntlet (image compression)
If I had a Mac I would like to try:
- Hammer (HTML includes, Sass, compressing)
- Sketch (web graphics)
- Pixelmator (photo editing)
- ImageOptim (image compression)
