What track should I follow if I want to learn how to develop a Facebook app specifically? PHP?

I have an idea for a Facebook app and want to learn how to develop it and was wondering if anybody knew a track I could follow to learn how to do so.

I recommend the Ruby on Rails track with some knowledge of front-end.
