What's the best to "cut and paste" code snippets into questions.

I have tried Markdown language but it seems like you can "copy and paste" in whole pages of code. What am I missing?

Thanks! after about 3 minutes of searching my keyboard finally found the backticks near upper left corner. I'd made the mistake of thinking they were single quotes. Thanks Jeremy Franklin
