Whats the best way to allow a client to add content to hand coded website

Hello,

I've been asked by a friends to code a website. They want alot of control over the design that isn't possible in CMS frameworks like wordpress.

What are the best options available for allowing none programmers to add content and edit hand coded sites.

I've had a look at simple cms http://www.simplecms.com/ which allows clients to edit WYSIWYG style the content on the site, but not add new blocks of content.

If anyone has any advice or recommendations i would be very grateful.

Thanks alot

James

wow..was just writing a reply saying id just found Perch and if anyone had used it or would recommend it. haha.. It looks like it could fit the job nicely.. Do you use it at all? if you do what are your thoughts on it?

Thanks a lot

James

I have not used it directly but I have heard good things about it from others. But from the doc's it seems a good solution built with care.

+1 for perch
