I don't see the advantage of going through the trouble of adding an Environment variable and remembering to add the relevant annotations. In the video, the stated goal is to NOT include a string literal -- well, the property key ("giflib.entity.package") is a string literal. Why not just reference a final static constant from a class like AppConstants?
