What's the difference between Front-End Developer and UI/UX Designer?

I see many overlapping skills between those two positions

1 Answer

Hey Mohamed,

I'd have to say there's a bit of a distinction. The role of the Front-End Developer is to typically code websites based upon designs from UI designers.

At the agency I work at, I'm considered a Front-End Developer. My role is to primarily code. However, since the agency is smaller, I sometimes have to be the design lead on a project. I also handle image and vector assets on an almost daily basis. So being comfortable with Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch are crucial where I work.

But not every agency functions that way.
