Whats the difference between throwing an exception and throwing a new exception?

Craig throws a 'new' exception, I was wondering why he used the new keyword? Whats the difference between 'throw exception' and throw new exception'?

The "new" keyword has no special significance for exceptions, it just creates a new instance of the class named after it. The new exception object is then passed as the argument to the "throw".
