What's the different between "Web server and a Domain"

Hello TeamTreehouse,

Can Someone help me explain more the difference between a "Web server and a Domain",.. Urgently wanna know.. thanks

In very simplistic terms a domain is the URL, or address of the site. For example (teamtreehouse.com)[teamtreehouse.com] is a domain name. A server is the computer which hosts your files. Typically the domain name will point to the server.

Oh yeah!! I have always thought of that, but it gets confusing sometimes, but now i do understand it better.. Domain re paid yearly, while to host files to a servers attracts Monthly payment ?

What the two do has nothing to do with how they are paid. You may rent an server or setup your own if you have an good internet connection.
