Android Build a Simple Android App (2014) Basic Android Programming Accessing Views in Code

whats the ID in this context? What does that identify?

which are the different IDs in his code?

1 Answer

The ID in this context is a way to link the xml to the java code. So if you create an EditText, TextView, Button etc in the xml it will display in the app but when you want to have background logic apply to update the Textview or have something happen when you press the button you will need to do that in Java. And to make it work in java you need the Id.
