When add images to CSS what if the file path to the question in inside a folder within another folder within the css?

Does this mean that to go up a directory out of the folder will have more than 2 dots....i.e

url('.../img/phone.png'); ???

To go up two directories use ../../

url('../../img/phone.png');

make sure to use only 2 periods not 3
