When exactly do we use clear both in CSS?

HI,

So I'm wondering, where do we exactly use clear both? and how exactly this helps us?

I see when i make a webpage with a sidebar , they have different height, but when i clear it , content and sidebar have he same height and expand together. So as in other things but how do we exactly use it?

Hi Aurelian,

This article from CSS Tricks might help to clear it up, particularly the section called Clearing the Float.

Thanks
