When I edit on my workspace and refresh the preview, the preview doesn't change. It also says that the site isn't secure

The title says it all

After you edit, remember to save your update with the menu or Ctrl-S shortcut, and then refresh your preview.

Security shouldn't be a concern since you're not entering any PII (personal identification information) here.
