when i type in letters, the letters in front of where i type are keep being deleted

its too annoying i have to type up everything again

Hi Sungbin you are probably switched your type mode to overtype instead of insert.

Try to press the "ins" or "insert " key on your keyboard and that should fix that problem.

Agree with Tobias! This usually happens when you accidentally press the "ins" key, particularly if you're using a PC/Windows.

On apple computers try : [fn + (numeric) enter] or [ctrl + t]. In my case the latter worked : )

I am using an Acer Chromebook 11. There does not appear to be a 'ins,' key on my keyboard however I just now switched to overwrite. Does anyone know how to switch away from this wretched mode?
